North Korea Accepts Nuclear Moratorium For US Food Aid...


North Korea agreed to suspend nuclear weapons tests and uranium enrichment and to allow international inspectors to verify and monitor activities at its main reactor as part of a deal that included US food aid to the impoverished nation. 

Suspension of testing its long-range missiles was also agreed to. The tests have in the past, raised military tensions in South Korea and Japan. 

North Korea is the world's most militarized nation with a total of 9,495,000 active, reserve, and paramilitary personnel. It is a nuclear-weapons state and has an active space program.
