The Swastika Of Etruscans...

5th century BCE

Etruscan civilization prospered in ancient Italy in the area corresponding roughly to today's Tuscany, western Umbria and northern Latium.

The ancient Romans called its creators the Tusci or Etrusci. Their Roman name is the origin of the terms Tuscany, which refers to their heartland, and Etruria, which can refer to their wider region.

Etruscans were either wiped out or assimilated by Rome. But they have left a rich heritage of art, jewellery, metal working, terracotta sculpture, urban planning, walls, and roads. In the 6th century BCE, the Etruscans were the most powerful people in the Mediterranean.
